Mobile Tech UAE 5G Networks in Dubai | Alex Jenkins

5g network in Dubai, Imagine a world where family and friends thousands of kilometers away from each other can experience the same world from a virtual perspective. Fifth generation connectivity (5G connectivity) is poised to be a game changer, surpassing both 4G and LTE mobile technology. Around the world, telecommunications giants are racing at epic speeds to expedite the official rollout of the future of wireless networking.

5G wireless networking is expected to reach higher maximum speeds, moving a great deal of matter in mere seconds. Additionally, the new connectivity will experience lower latency, as well as possess the power needed to connect multiple devices in unison (such as the IoT and other smart devices).

Countries that Use 5G Networks

Mobile giant Verizon is the world’s first service provider to launch a non-standard version of 5G in four test cities across the United States. They launched their first 5G service called 5G Home, a residential broadband service with speeds of 300 megabits per second (Mbps) in the following cities:

  1. Indianapolis, Indiana
  2. Los Angeles, California
  3. Sacramento, California
  4. Houston, Texas
  5. 5g network in Dubai

Close behind Verizon, AT&T launched their version of 5G in twelve cities across the United States, to include Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. AT&T has reached top theoretical 5G speeds of 400 Mbps for capable devices. They are currently offering their commercial 5G solutions to select “businesses and consumers.”

EE, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the UK announced their 5G services will be rolled out in six cities. EE intend to complete testing of these services by mid-2019 in the following locations:

  1. London
  2. Edinburgh
  3. Cardiff
  4. Birmingham
  5. Belfast
  6. Manchester

In addition to these initial launches, there is an extensive list of other countries poised to release 5G networks. The UAE and Saudi Arabia are well positioned to bring the benefits of 5g network in Dubai throughout 2019 and 2020. As for the rest of the world, the race is on. From the likes of Canada, Puerto Rico, and Central America to South Korea, Brasil, and Japan – countries around the world are expected to roll out 5G between 2019 and 2020.

The Future of 5G Mobile Tech in the UAE

According to The National, “Technology analysts estimate 5G connectivity will boost the GCC economy by $269 billion (Dh988.04bn) over 10 years with cheaper, faster internet access and connecting devices through the Internet of Things.”

Etisalat, the largest telecommunications company in the UAE, is planning to build 600 5G sites across the country within the next year. As part of the new infrastructure they strive to build 300 5G towers built during the first half of the year. Additionally, the healthcare, agricultural, transport, and finance industries are all expected to benefit from the 2019 5G rollout. Manufacturers are expected to launch the first 5G devices in early 2020.

5G Devices – No Need to Rush to the Store

Despite the rapid advances in which countries use 5G technology, there is not an immediate need to rush out and buy a new smart device for the sole purpose of 5G. While there are 5G mobile devices on the market, most areas of the world do not yet offer wide access to the 5G network, and it will be a few years before 5G is available worldwide.

According to the GSM Association, the number of people connected to 5G across MENA will reach 50 million by 2025. In fact, you have a few years before you’ll really be able to use a 5G phone globally. When the US rolled out 4G connectivity, it took two to three years to reach the masses worldwide. Essentially, if you upgrade your phone too soon, you’ll just need to upgrade again in the next year or so. By the time 5G is a practical reality, and available across the four corners of the world, manufacturers will be several device cycles further ahead of where they are today. By that point, all 5G devices will probably be the standard and not something you have to go out of your way to find.

So if you’ve been wondering which countries use 5G tech, the good news is there are quite a few. Even better, most developed nations appear to have a path to 5G to reach the masses by 2020. It’s no longer a matter of if, but when 5G will reach you.
